Big ticket 'Brahmastra' has emerged as the biggest post-pandemic opener domestically. The film beat the likes of RRR (Hindi), Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Sooryavanshi despite not being a festive release and getting mixed reviews from critics.
Not just in India, the Ranbir-Alia film has taken a great start in the overseas market as well, collecting more than $1 million (approx. INR 8 million) at the US BO, excluding premieres. And 300 thousand dollars from Australia.

But the first Monday will decide the fate of Ranbir's star and whether it will witness more than the usual decline, it will also reveal the mood of the audience on Brahmastra. Estimated to collect 30-35 Cr range on day 2.
BRAHMASTRA CONTINUED THE PRE-PANDEMIC BLOCKBUSTERS
The Ayan Mukerji directorial with a grand opening of over 37 crores beat pre-pandemic blockbusters like Sanju, Tiger Zinda Hai and Dhoom 3. It also became the biggest non-holiday opening for a Hindi film of all time.
Brahmastra collected over 32 Cr in the Hindi belt, the south versions of the film collected 5 Cr nett. The film did well both at the multiplex and on individual screens.
Defeating DHOOM 3 IN TELUGU STATES
If Telugu trade circle reports are to be believed, Brahmastra became the biggest opener in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, grossing over 6.2 Cr on Friday, breaking the record of Dhoom 3 with Rs 4.70 Cr gross across all languages.

Brahmastra is the brainchild of Ayan Mukerji, it is produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Production in association with Star Studios. The film is getting mixed to negative reviews from the audience. Along with Ranbir-Aalia, it has Mouni Roy as antagonist, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Dimple Kapadia and Amitabh Bachchan in pivotal roles. Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has a supporting role in the film.
Brahmastra has a huge budget of 410 crores excluding P&A, it needs a very good audience to stay in theaters for long. For that, he will have to pass the crucial first test on Monday.
